What is LitBuy?
LitBuy is a shopping agent for people outside China who want to buy from Chinese marketplaces. Taobao, Weidian, 1688 and Xianyu sell millions of products at local prices, but most of those shops only ship inside China, only accept Chinese payment apps and are written entirely in Chinese. A shopping agent sits in the middle: it buys the item for you, receives it in its own warehouse, checks it and ships it to your country.
This model is called reverse purchasing or proxy buying. Instead of waiting for a shop to start shipping worldwide, you use the agent as your address and your buyer in China. According to its homepage in October 2026, LitBuy advertises purchases at 0% markup with worldwide delivery, and offers tools such as a freight estimator and a browser extension.
The agent solves the buying problem, but not the finding problem. Searching a Chinese marketplace for the right sneaker or jacket can take hours. That is why people share a LitBuy spreadsheet.
